No. SideUp is an escrow technology platform — not a gambling operator. We don't set odds, take positions, or profit from your losses. Two individuals agree to a challenge, lock equal funds, and the winner is determined by a publicly verifiable sports result. SideUp is the technical intermediary, like PayPal processing a payment between friends. You are responsible for compliance with your local laws. SideUp does not operate as a gambling service in any jurisdiction.
What are Telegram Stars?
Telegram Stars (XTR) is Telegram's native in-app currency — you can buy them with a regular credit or debit card inside the Telegram app. No crypto wallet, no sign-up beyond Telegram. Think of them like app store credits. When you win, Stars are sent directly to your Telegram account.
What happens if the match is cancelled or postponed?
If a match is officially postponed or cancelled, both stakes are returned in full to each participant. No fee. No fuss. The escrow only releases when a confirmed final result exists.
Does SideUp take a cut?
At launch: 0% commission. Every challenge is completely free. Once we scale, challenges above $50 value will carry a 2% platform fee — still less than anything you'd pay anywhere else. Free challenges remain free forever for small amounts.
Can I challenge a stranger?
Yes — via The Market. Post your open challenge and anyone in the SideUp community can accept the opposite side. Great for when your friends won't pick the wrong team.
Do I need to download anything?
No. SideUp is a Telegram bot. If you have Telegram (and you do), you're ready. Just open @sideupbot and start challenging.
