Is this gambling? Am I breaking the law? +

No. SideUp is an escrow technology platform — not a gambling operator. We don't set odds, take positions, or profit from your losses. Two individuals agree to a challenge, lock equal funds, and the winner is determined by a publicly verifiable sports result. You are responsible for compliance with your local laws.

What are Telegram Stars? +

Telegram Stars (XTR) is Telegram's native in-app currency — buy them with any card inside the Telegram app. No crypto wallet, no sign-up beyond Telegram. When you win, Stars are sent directly to your Telegram account.

What if the match is cancelled or postponed? +

Both stakes are returned in full to each participant. The escrow only releases when a confirmed final result exists. No fee. No fuss.

Does SideUp take a cut? +

At launch: 0% commission. Every challenge is completely free. Once we scale, challenges above $50 value carry a 2% platform fee — still the lowest anywhere.

Can I challenge a stranger? +

Yes — via The Market. Post your open challenge and anyone in the SideUp community can accept the opposite side. Great for when your friends won't back the wrong team.

Do I need to download anything? +

No. SideUp is a Telegram bot. If you have Telegram, you're ready. Just open @sideupbot and start challenging.
